Why I Eat Dark Chocolate

Caitlin: I absolutely love chocolate! I always get those sweet cravings and try my hardest to avoid them because I always hear how chocolate isn’t good for you so I just wanted to cut it out of my diet completely. On some random Tuesday morning, I met this former model and she was telling me all the different diets she has been on to keep her figure. She told me about her one diet that she had to go on and it was just dark chocolate as her source of food. I questioned it because my whole life I always heard chocolate being talked about in all bad ways. As soon as I got home I did tons of research on dark chocolate and found out that dark chocolate has so many health benefits. Dark chocolate has tons of antioxidants and minerals so after reading about all these great benefits I added dark chocolate into my diet. I only eat either 1-2 pieces a day but no more than that. I get a chocolate bar with a minimum of 70 percent cocoa because the more cocoa the better. Milk chocolate I wouldn’t add into my diet is because it has less cocoa and more sugar. I normally eat a piece of dark chocolate when I am craving chocolate or just in the middle of the day while I am at work. I work a 9-5 job so I get pretty hungry during my shift and I never pack a big lunch nor do I want to buy a lunch every day so what I do is pack a small lunch and a piece of dark chocolate. Eating that one piece of chocolate I have noticed has made a difference. Dark chocolate which I was researching said it decreases appetite and yes it’s true! I can finish the rest of my shift without feeling hungry and getting home without being hangry. It has minimized my appetite which is what I wanted for my body but just because I am eating less I am still getting all the sources that my body needs between the dark chocolate and the rest of the foods within my diet.
